What Drupal is…

About  -  How to Info -  Organization and Management

Drupal is a community of over a million users, that developed the most advanced open source online database driven platform for use on the web.

Civil Social Media uses this platform to build a commercially inclined, user administered, social media platform. Because the Drupal platform is open and free,  it can be used for personal and business applications that can be import or export data between platforms.

This site is a prototype and will change with user input.

The site has three main aspects. Sales - Marketing - Social Media

Sales

An online sales platform where business and individuals can sell products or services.

The site provides a business inventory of items for sale and a selection of choices for what to do with your items.

Items can be..

a. Sold by users directly or via local retail locations

b. Sold online

c. Added to or removed from storage

d. Held as back inventory - not for sale.

e. Resold by the new owner or agent

(parts of this interface are still being designed)

Marketing

A directory of locations. Comments become the individuals at these locations.

Users that create articles have special administrative privileges. Authors can provide a local personal link to clients and customers amd can assist other users marketing services or products by direct selling or providing local customer service.

Notes are private, and can be added to articles for personal ques about shopping or marketing. Whether it is a note about a dentist appointment or about a prospect you called to offer a service, notes are reminders for when you come back to this location. A list of your notes is available at your account page.

Articles can be filtered, and sorted either in list form or as a map. Maps give a more visual view of the area you interact with. Since comments are individuals they are similar to contacts and the comment map serves as a logistical view of your contacts. (parts of this interface are still being designed)

Social Media

The social media component is called “relations”. It offers three different personal displays, or levels of privacy for posted content.

A. Private- only you can see.

B. Sphere - contacts and business associates

C. Friend - personal posts for family and close friends.

People do not request to be your friend. You choose and invite who you want to include in your list of contacts. (parts of this interface are still being designed)

An important aspect of our site is that there are no false people, users invite other users and communication is between real and verified people.

Users build networks, and provide other users with information that is verified.

Private messages are private, no administrators have permissions to see these nor is the software designed for access. Users are emailed reminders when messages are sent, and a list can be seen at your account page. For business use these provide an excellent customer service function.

Users have four separate pages, 3 social media pages, each directed to a separate audience and one account page that has two sides. One side that you see and another other users can see with private message contact and no other information. (parts of this interface are still being designed)

Users are verified but you can use any username you like. We consider anonymity important, your friends know who you are.
